As happened in Oregon five years ago, the voters in Massachustts passed the Committee to Protect Dogs' measure banning any dog racing where the speed or ability of dogs occurs, effectively closing the state's two tracks in Raynham and Revere.
With 92% of the vote counted, the referendum measure was sure to pass with 1,502,746 YES votes (56%) and 1,168,793 NO votes.
